Inspection, Testing and Maintenance of Fire Protection Systems

Course Overview

Automatic fire sprinkler systems are your first line of defense in the event of a fire. Are you doing everything you need to maintain your first line of defense? This course will explain the functional components of your sprinkler system, as well as the requirements for testing and maintenance. Participation in this interactive class can assist you in implementing an Inspection, Testing and Maintenance program designed to maximize the response of your system should your company experience a fire.

Taught at Travelers’ state-of-the-art fire lab, this program is a combination of lecture and hands-on activities. Participants will test live sprinkler systems, reset wet-pipe and dry-pipe valves, witness a live demonstration of a sprinkler head, and flow test a fire booster pump.  

The workshop will include:  

• A discussion of fire protection system nomenclature.
• Demonstrations of sprinkler discharge.
• Maintenance guidelines for water-based fire protection systems.
• A review of NFPA 25.
• Scenarios for involving a sprinkler contractor.
• A hands-on workshop on inspection, testing and maintenance of sprinkler systems and fire pumps.
• A look at new technology in sprinkler protection.
